great barrier reef
I'm in Australia. Started from Cairns to see the world wonder which is great Barrier Reef. Just back from the trip. I've done first in my life introductory scuba diving. It was amazing! Considering that I'm panicky scared of deep water it was a big thing to me but the life down there, under water and the reef is SO SO AMAZINGLY BEAUTIFUL that I forgot to be scared of whatsoever. Really enjoyed. So that's 2 big first time diving in 2 weeks time. How does it sound? Great isn't?
I sat on the deck and I couldn't believe I'm here and I'm seeing what I'm seeing. And I felt SO far from everyday life in Poland or London.
I thought that east coast of Australia is just about surfing and diving and non of those I thought is my thing (at least till today:-)) so I thought that 1 month is enough for me. What's a mistake. There's plenty to do and see. I went to the travel agency as they had this great super saver deal, the whole package: 3 days Whitsunday Island sailing, 3 days Fraser Island, 3 days Noosa canoeing + kayaking among dolphins and making your own boomerang. The lady started putting everything on the paper making a calendar for me. First I got scared: what?! having everything booked and planned in advance? Where is the space for challenge and surprises? But then I said ok. This time I will just get my prepaid vouchers and bookings and calendar and then sit down and relax. And I think that was a good decision. No worries. Of course Australia is expensive comparing to the rest of countries I did or going to visit but still think got a good package.
Tonight there is a mad Monday party - bars crawling from my hostel and then I'm off to Magnetic Island. I love the name of it. Looking forward for snorkeling there.
